Why a regular dental check up is important

Every 9th of February, Spain and other South American countries celebrate World’s Dentist Day. A very special occasion to highlight the importance of dental professionals monitoring the oral health of our population.

It is often believed that dentists are only focused on improving teeth: correcting the crooked teeth, cleaning if there is bacteria or bleaching teeth. However, these professionals are in charge of a whole lot more.

The dentist will make sure your skeletal growth is favourable, you are completing a good self-performed oral hygiene at home, there is absence of any pathologic process such an infection and all the soft tissues look healthy.

Reasons why you should visit the dentist

  1. Dentists not only treat, but they prevent dental problems.

We often attend emergencies that could have been easily prevented if the patient had regularly visited his or her dentist.

As dentists, we have the responsibility not only of determining the best treatment plan for our patients, but also of identifying any abnormalities that may develope in an early future and carefully emphatize te importance of oral health in our population.

Childhood is a period of changes, development and growth for children and her facial and dental structures is also constantly changing. It is of key importance that your dentists monitores the growth and appearance of the definitive teeth. Abnormalities in the progressive eruption of our adult teeth can greatly affect their way of chewing as adults.
